The hyperloop, future mobility

Tata Steel Nederland believes in the opportunities of future mobility and is continuously supporting initiatives to develop new sustainable transport. The Hyperloop is the perfect example of innovative and sustainable future mobility. 

Hyperloop is a new transport mode consisting of driverless vehicles  that move by magnetic propulsion in a near-vacuum tube environment. The vehicles are propelled electrically. It has no mechanical friction and very small air and magnetic drag. That is why hyperloop can be operated with very low input of energy and does not cause emissions but travels like airplanes. 

In the past years, Tata Steel Nederland has invested in the development of Hyperloop and Hyperloop technologies with research, technology insights as well as with steel. Tata Steel Nederland has done that together with dedicated partners within a European and global Hyperloop community.  

In the development of Hyperloop and Hyperloop technology experts are testing continously to make the right decisions moving forward. In this video you can see what steel already has been used for Hyperloop test projects and how is the steel being processed. You will gain insights on what is the added value of using steel for Hyperloop development. And last but not least, an example of the companies we are partnering with to realize this new form of sustainable mobility.

Tata Steel Nederland has been part of the international Hyperloop technology partners ecosystem since the beginning of Hyperloop development. The Hyperloop tubes as shown in this video, are developed in close collaboration with different partners within this ecosystem and symbolize the beginning of the next phase in Hyperloop Development – Hyperloop tubes ready for testing!
