HANZA acquired Leden Group Oy a year ago. We interviewed Pekka Leminen, sourcing manager for HANZA cluster Finland, has this had an impact in Tata Steel's position as HANZA’s steel supplier?
“HANZA has been working with Tata Steel since the start of HANZA. With the latest acquisition of Leden Group of which Tata Steel was already a big steel supplier the co-operation has even increased in magnitude”, tells Pekka.
At Tata Steel Naantali steel service center we store the main product groups such as hot and cold rolled, hot dip galvanized and electro galvanized in their most common material qualities.
“HANZA uses hot dip galvanized materials for different kind of electrical cabinets and hot rolled material for tanks, frames, mudguards and covers“, Pekka mentions.

“Tata Steel has been chosen as a key suppliers of HANZA because Tata Steel has been able to give us the best total cost efficiency. With total cost efficiency we mean quality, delivery and price”, Pekka explains and continues “HANZA expect products with perfect quality, 100% delivery performance and competitive prices. Since HANZA is a global player we also expect our suppliers to be able to cover our demand globally. Sustainability is key for HANZA. We request all our suppliers to be part of Ecovadis and we really appreciate the work Tata Steel does to go towards more sustainable steel production” Pekka specifies HANZA’s expectations.
Tata Steel and HANZA have been having co-operation for years. Pekka Leminen, how do you see our co-operation progressing in the coming years?
”In the future we see potential to work even more closer together with Tata Steel. We currently do not see any weaknesses in co-operation. With Tata Steel we are able to develop our own operations as we can rely on our key supplier to be up for the task.”
