In recent years, Tata Steel Nederland has implemented numerous improvements to reduce carbon emissions. Additional projects, that would not have been financially feaslible without proper market funding. And this is just the beginning. We have many more ideas for carbon savings. These projects are given high priority.

Under the Zeremis Carbon Lite brand name, we now bundle these carbon savings for our customers. You have the opportunity to purchase declarations indicating that the steel you buy has a virtually reduced carbon footprint, made within the value chain of the product itself.

How does Zeremis work for you?

Zeremis Carbon Lite is an independently assured reduced carbon emission solution. Our CO₂e savings help you achieve your short-term carbon reduction targets and build your green brand with a solid decarbonisation narrative. By purchasing declarations of realised carbon savings, you enable a reduction in atmospheric CO₂e, which you can report as a lowered scope 3 emission under the Greenhouse Gas protocol.

Every declaration sold is backed by successfully realised carbon reduction projects. Revenues from Zeremis Carbon Lite are being used to fund new decarbonisation projects within Tata Steel Nederland which would not have been financially feasible before. This drives a flywheel effect. After all, now more greenhouse gas reduction projects in our pipeline receive proper funding, enabling us to offer even more carbon savings in the form of assured declarations.

Through this solution of mass balancing, carbon savings are not spread across all products sold. Instead, they are aggregated into substantial reduction declarations — of a magnitude that is interesting for you as our customer.
