Ruth Knoyle - Careers UK - Meet the team
Biography:

Ruth's worked in Talent acquisition for over 20 years and has diversified recently into Talent Management and Development. Ruth has experience from her current and previous roles in recruiting across all disciplines from engineering to media to business support functions across Europe. Ruth has spent the last 11 years within the Tata HR function holding various positions within Talent Acquisition and has been responsible for the Development and Acquisition team at Tata Steel UK for just over a year. A fluent welsh speaker, Ruth is responsible for the continuous improvement of Talent policies and processes to ensure a simple and best in class candidate and employee experience.

Ruth thrives on the challenges that comes with working at Tata and the exposure her role gives her to other parts of the business as well as the autonomy to ensure TSUK recruits and develops quality, diverse talent.

Ruth Knoyle

Biography:

Charlotte has worked in Recruitment for over 10 years, with 6 of these at Tata in a variety of roles within the Recruitment Team and Agency support. She has experience in recruiting across all disciplines from Engineering & Technical to the Business Support Functions across the UK on both a permanent and temporary basis.

Charlotte studied English Literature at Cardiff University. She is responsible for Coaching, Developing and Mentoring our Team of Talent Acquisition and Development Advisors, the recruitment of Tata Steel UK Senior Manager/Leader vacancies and supporting the continuous improvement of recruitment policy and processes.

Her favourite thing about working for Tata Steel is the focus on the community at both the company and in the wider community whilst working with passionate individuals striving to make a difference.

Charlotte Cassidy

Kelly Coombs
Biography:

Kelly’s role is ensuring that Tata Steel is seen as an employer of choice through positive brand promotion, external and internal stakeholders, partnership opportunities and the managing of the employee Talent Acquisition ambassadors programme.

Kelly has worked at Tata Steel for 16 years, starting as a functional trainee (now known as a higher apprentice) in HR in 2007. Kelly has experience in all areas of recruitment, including graduate and apprentice recruitment and general hires. Kelly also spent a year working within the external communications department, working within the community liaison team. Her favourite thing about working for Tata Steel is being able to encourage young people into a career in STEM and knowing that she plays a role in recruiting the right people, with the right skills, to drive the business forward.

Jon Taylor
Biography:

Jon joined the Tata Steel team in 2022 and is responsible for managing the recruitment process for our Engineering, Technical, Operations and Supply Chain vacancies. After completing his Business Management degree, Jon has gained over 10 years’ experience having worked for recruitment agencies, as an in house recruiter and has run his own recruitment business.

Jon is passionate about delivering an exceptional recruitment service to enable us hire the best talent available.

Laura Rowles
Biography:

Laura manages the end-to-end recruitment process for graduates, placement students and apprentices. Laura is a masters graduate in Communications, Media Practice and PR with previous experience in recruitment within the fashion industry.

Laura’s favourite thing about Tata Steel is working with people who are passionate about our industry and helping Tata Steel’s growth into a sustainable future by recruiting the right people to get us there.

Mike Gelder
Biography:

Mike joined the Tata Steel team in January 2023 and is responsible for managing the recruitment of Functions and Operations.

Mike has worked in recruitment since 2016, starting with Agency recruitment before moving on to manage the internal recruitment, onboarding and training for a major high street brand and most recently working with a global education business and a blockchain IT based business.

Mike’s favourite part of working in the recruitment team is meeting a wide range of people from all backgrounds and supporting them in either career progression or working with stakeholders to fill their vacancies and report on factors affecting the recruitment process.
