Tata Steel launches its COMBINED platform – a building envelope design and configuration tool for architects, technicians and specifiers.

Interfacing with all major CAD tools, Tata Steel’s COMBINED platform makes it easy for different design options to be compared quickly and accurately. Architects, technicians and specifiers can sign up now for a free webinar, which will be held on Tuesday 3rd November at 10.30am.

Tata Steel, a leading steel manufacturing company, has launched its new COMBINED platform, which simplifies the design of its building envelope systems. Compatible with all major CAD platforms, the COMBINED platform connects directly to Tata Steel’s fully managed product database – the single source of truth – providing instant access to a list of available solutions, as well as up-to-date product information. To support the release of the new tool, Tata Steel will be hosting a free webinar for architects, technicians and specifiers on Tuesday 3rd November.

The COMBINED platform was developed to help preserve design intent throughout a construction project, while also saving time and improving accuracy. Architects and technicians benefit from knowing that the product data is current, that the chosen solution will deliver the expected performance for the location of the project and is backed by Tata Steel’s Confidex® Guarantee.

With the COMBINED platform, specifiers can quickly and accurately compare Tata Steel solutions, generate material schedules and carry out calculations such as U-values and wind load. Design modifications can be made and checked quickly, and if a product’s performance characteristics or production information changes, users will receive an instant notification.

“We wanted to find a way to help preserve the golden thread of design intent that runs throughout a construction project,” explains Alex Small, BIM and digital platforms manager. “The COMBINED platform provides better traceability and accountability in terms of design and specification, and with real-time updates, architects, technicians and specifiers can be sure that the chosen solution is suitable for their project.”

The free webinar, which will be held on Tuesday 3rd November at 10.30am will provide architects and technicians with all the information they need to get started with the COMBINED platform. “Whether you want to simplify the design process, provide more accurate quotations or streamline procurement, we encourage you to join us on Tuesday 3rd November to see the COMBINED platform in action – and find out how to start generating building envelopes with ease,” says Alex.
